Good Samaritan and Tulsa Dream Center Serve North Tulsa Community Together

Good Samaritan is honored to partner with the Tulsa Dream Center to provide four medical clinics each week for uninsured patients living in north Tulsa. This clinic serves a great need in this community where access to medical care is extremely limited. In 2018, we provided quality comprehensive medical care through 1600 patient visits at 149 clinics and we are on track to provide this many or more patient visits and clinics in 2019.

Caroline Cousins, APRN, is the Site Coordinator at this clinic. She has been with the clinic since the Dream Center Clinic opened in 2002. That’s when she felt God calling her to quit her job at Saint Francis and volunteer to set up and run the clinic at the Tulsa Dream Center. “We had one clinic a month when we started.” Caroline noted, “Things changed over the years and developed into what they are today.” Good Samaritan began operating clinics there in 2012.

The Dream Center offers many other programs to the community. These include educational programs from early childhood through a G.E.D. program. They also have a food program with on-site hot meals and Grocery Giveaways, which provide needy families with fresh produce and dry goods. The Tulsa Dream Center has a Clothing Room with clothes ranging from infant sizes to adult sizes. They also offer recreation programs where children are not only coached in a sport, but are also mentored and trained in leadership, team-building skills and character development. “The Dream Center empowers people for their purpose in life and gets them saved and delivered from drugs and alcohol,” Caroline explained.
